Our plan of attack (which we actually stuck to for the most part):
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Vietnam, I have posted a map of it for your convenience…Don’t worry though because I knew very little about Vietnam before actually stepping foot in it.

Fly to Ho Chi Mihn City (formerly Siagon) (two hour flight from Hong Kong)
Overnight train to Nha Trang (beach city)
Overnight train to Da Nang and taxi to Hoi An (river city known for hand tailoring)
Overnight train to Hanoi (capital- much nicer than HCM in my humble opinion)
Guided tour to Ha Long Bay (limestone isles that rise up from the water)
Guided tour to Sapa (rice fields)
Domestic flight from Hanoi to HCM (two hours)
Guided tour of the Chu Chi Tunnels
Flight home!
